The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) of Russia agreed to make concessions in the requirements for the installation of domestic software to smartphone manufacturers. This is with reference to the new version of the document, which is sent to the government, writes “Kommersant”.

First of all, these changes are aimed at work with the closed Apple ecosystem, which does not provide PE to third party apps. The experts noted that the Corporation can even leave the Russian market, if the requirements approved in the previous view.

Requirements should enter into force on 1 January 2021 and the law want to take until July 1. Manufacturers will be obliged to advertise so 13 types of applications. The software provider should be either registered in, or owned by the company, which is controlled by Russian citizens.

Apple was the only company that has not met the FAS, and now the Department hopes that after the revision of the requirements it agrees to fulfill them.

However, experts note that Apple is still profitable to back down, because the same claims can present the rest of the country. However, the new language did not jeopardize the principle of the closed system, which complies with the Corporation.

Other manufacturers, including Samsung and Huawei, are ready to fulfill the requirements of Russian legislation, Xiaomi also confirmed that he would agree to establish national application.
