After winning the FA Cup and the League Cup, Jürgen Klopp does not expect that his Liverpool FC will also win the Premier League title. “I don’t remember the last time Manchester City didn’t win two games in a row,” said Klopp on Monday, referring to the league leaders’ loss of a point at West Ham United (2-2) on Sunday.

The fact that Man City’s opponents on the last day of the game, Aston Villa, have to play a league game beforehand on Thursday makes victory even more unlikely, according to football coach Klopp. “They’re not used to it,” said the 54-year-old. “City have a very strong football team and I don’t expect them to lose points there.”

For Liverpool to become champions, not only do the Reds need to win their last two games of the season – on Tuesday at Southampton FC and on Sunday against Wolverhampton Wanderers – Man City also have to lose or draw the last game of the season against Villa.

A week after the league final, Liverpool have another title chance in the premier class final against Real Madrid. But Klopp dampened expectations there too. “It would be huge if we win the Champions League. But we’re playing against the most experienced Champions League team on the planet,” said Klopp. “We’re not huge favourites. It’s an open game and any little advantage we can get is good.”
