Jacob Young scored 23 points, tied his season record and had 11 assists to help Oregon beat No. On Wednesday, 12 seed Oregon State defeated No. 86 in Round 1 of the Pac-12 Conference tournament.

Oregon (19-13), defeated Oregon State for the third time in this season’s tournament to reach No. 4 seed Colorado on Thursday. Oregon State (3-28) ended the season with an 18-game losing streak against Utah.

Oregon lost its point guard (14.1), rebound (3.7) or assists (3.6) because Will Richardson was ill with a non COVID illness. Young filled the void and came four rebounds short of a triple double.

Quincy Guerrier had 20 points. N’Faly Dante added 15 points, seven boards and five blocks to Oregon’s total. Eric Williams Jr. scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Young’s 11th assist was on a quick break. Williams scored a 3-pointer to give Oregon a 75-64 advantage. Dante’s second-up dunk gave Oregon a lead of 82-70. He blocked his fifth shot at one end. Young then laid up for a 14 point lead, the largest in the game.

Jarod Lucas was the Oregon State’s leading scorer with 22 points and three 3 pointers. Glenn Taylor Jr., a freshman, scored 16 points in a season-high performance.
Oregon scored the 12th point of the game. With 3:28 remaining in halftime, Oregon held a 12-point lead. Oregon State then scored 10 of its final 15 points to pull within 43-36.
