some years ago, the residents of the GuldBoSund Friplejehjem snowed in. It is the same cloud-cuckoo land, they find themselves in now.

The former marathoner Verner Larsen at 88 years miss the cooling fresh air when he runs. Right now is the daily jog up and down the aisles.

The former Italian model Adele Dehn at 90 years miss the sight of his three children, though they talk together daily.

“We can notice that besøgsforbuddet gives the deprivation and the loneliness pressing,” explains Dorte Olsen-Kludt, who is executive director of GuldBoSund Friplejehjem, and adds:

“Although they are not alone in the nursing home, and although they have neighbors, and the staff is here, we can simply notice that isolation pervades all.”

the Nursing home, which is located on the island of Lolland with a view of Guldborgsund, is privately owned, and living 48 nursing home residents. In the video above tells four of the residents, how coronakrisen affect them.

In the nursing home makes the dog all in order to maintain a normal daily life. In the morning with the DR’s Phillip Faber has become an established and very popular morgenritual among the residents.

Then read aloud from the newspaper in small groups, quizzet in small groups and eating in smaller groups. Later in the day to fit some of their training, while the other is being driven around in a christiania bike in the nearby forest.

But even if that is done for the residents, can Amy Olsen-Kludt and the rest of the staff feel that the residents are becoming more concerned for the time being:

“When, for example, Phillip Faber sing when they receive flowers from relatives or get read a letter from a relative, so they may well pinch a tear. They are more concerned for the time being, because the emotions are sitting outside on the clothes.”

The many feelings also means that the close physical proximity is not always can be avoided in a place like a nursing home. They are both aware of hand hygiene and keeps the residents in small groups.

But they keep the residents in your hand, or give them a hug when it is needed.

“If you are hukommelsessvækket, or if you even suffer from dementia, then it is really painful to be rejected. They do not understand. So in the case we give them what they need,” states Dorte Olsen-Kludt fixed.

Since besøgsforbuddet became a reality the 18. march, both the staff and residents were able to enjoy the benefits of the endorsement, the relatives could help with at a distance.

“There are running cars with flowers and groceries in a steady flow to the residents. But there are also a great many relatives who remember to acknowledge the staff in this time with chocolate and sweet letters,” says Dorte Olsen-Kludt.

Even though easter is a time where one typically sees his family more, and where several of the residents under normal circumstances, should be either at home visits or have visits, they keep your spirits high on GuldBoSund Friplejehjem.

“I have good friends here in the house, so it is enough,” says Henning at 82 years of age.

Easter is, among other things, on a 80-year birthday, where there is a doughnut to the whole house. One of the relatives has ordered jordbærtærter to any one of the days. And there’s going to be several smaller places to eat easter lunch, where plejehjemmets chef make påskeplatter.

“At the moment we are each other’s family, so we get the best out of it,” says Dorte Olsen-Kludt.

There have not been some smittetilfælde among either staff or residents on site.
