Vandegrift High School’s football team secured a spot in the 6A Division II regional final by defeating Cibolo Steele 49-35 at The Alamodome last Friday. They will be facing off against San Antonio Harlan in the Region IV championship game. Harlan managed to secure their spot after a close victory over Canyon with a score of 39-36 at UFCU Stadium in San Marcos.

Another notable victory was by Westlake, who advanced to the 6A Division I Region IV final by dominating Buda Johnson with a score of 52-14. They are set to play against their district rivals, Lake Travis, in the upcoming game at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex on December 6th at 7 p.m.

Wimberley also had an impressive win against Cuero with a score of 69-28, earning them a spot in the 4A Division II Region IV final where they will be facing Sinton. Llano narrowly defeated Goliad with a score of 30-29 and will now be playing against Edna in the 3A Division I Region IV championship game.

Several other games are scheduled for Saturday to wrap up the regional semifinal round of the Texas high school football playoffs. Some of the scores from Central Texas include Lake Travis beating SA East Central with a score of 52-7, Llano defeating Goliad 30-29, and Westlake’s victory over Buda Johnson with a score of 52-14.
