Atletico Faces Selection Dilemma for Red Bull Bragantino Match

The Atlético team is gearing up for their upcoming match against Red Bull Bragantino, scheduled for next Tuesday (11) at 9:30 pm at Estádio Nabi Abi Chedid in Bragança Paulista. However, the match poses a significant challenge for coach Gabriel Milito in selecting his squad. With several players out due to injuries or international call-ups, the team is facing a shortage in the attack department. Without Hulk, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, and his replacement Vargas on international duty with Chile, Milito may have to choose between Alan Kardec and Cadu to partner with Paulinho.

Based on their playing styles, Cadu seems to have an edge in the competition for a starting spot. Additionally, the player has been gaining more playing time under the Argentine coach. Since Gabriel Milito’s arrival, Cadu has featured in 8 matches, all as a substitute. In contrast, Alan Kardec has only played in 3 games, all as a substitute as well.

Speaking in a press conference at Cidade do Galo, Cadu expressed his eagerness to seize the opportunity to start in the upcoming games: “We have some injuries, some call-ups. I hope to have the opportunities and deliver the best performance, scoring goals, providing assists, and having a good game,” he said.

When asked about his preferred position in the attack, the young forward stated: “I feel comfortable in any position, whether as a center forward or on the wings. I will always be willing to help the team in the best possible way. Wherever Milito puts me, I will give my best.”
