Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov admitted that the Russians can get a one-time financial assistance during the period of the pandemic coronavirus. He stated on 30 April in his interview to RTVI.

Peskov said that all the measures of social support, which is currently accepted by the government, primarily aimed at the continuation of economic life in the country.

however, he did not rule out direct monetary payments to the population. “Assistance can be either direct or indirect, and no one knows that better,” – said the speaker of the Kremlin in an interview with RTVI.

earlier, we had several proposals about the distribution of the so-called “helicopter money” – a one-time issuance of funds to every Russian. So, in mid-April, a group of prominent Russian liberal economists have urged the government to begin direct payments to the population, to use the funds of the national welfare Fund and run a printing press, as it did in the U.S. and other countries.

In particular, Professor of Economics at the Paris School of political Sciences Sergei Guriev offered to help the Russians direct payment (20 thousand roubles to all adult citizens), the doubling of pensions and grants for payment of utilities. According to Professor Konstantin Sonin, appropriate measure would be the payment to each citizen a lump sum in the amount of 10 thousand rubles in April-may and then by the same summer and autumn. However, the Russian authorities, these ideas found no response.
