“This is a fairly large order. Quite a long time the company has not received orders for this volume. This order took place thanks to the President the decision to introduce the mechanism of “quotas in exchange for investments”, – said Deputy Prime Minister – Plenipotentiary representative of RF President in the far Eastern Federal district Yuri Trutnev.

Six buildings are laid for the group of companies “Antey” and two lengths – for “Pacific fishery company”. “I want to wish good luck to all participants of the process: the shipbuilders, for whom this is a big order, the opportunity to expand their skills and give new impetus to the development of their enterprises; and the fishermen, who are waiting for these vessels to continue to work, to catch crabs. This is to some extent a symbolic point. Because money fishing companies operating in the far East, went to other countries. It is important to reverse the situation, to ensure that the money earned in Russia, will stay in the country”, – said Yuri Trutnev.

To update the fishing fleet has a program of subsidizing part of the costs of construction of new civil courts instead of the courts, handed over for recycling. On behalf of the President the government is developing a subsidy mechanism under which 20% of the cost will be refunded to customers for the construction of ships in the far East shipyards in the framework of quotas of extraction of crabs for investment purposes in order to reduce the risks of the orders of the first batch.

Now quotas for crab are available for investment purposes, that is, the crab auction winners must build krabolovy vessels on shipyards in Russia. According to the results of auctions of quotas for the catch of crab for the far Eastern fishery basin distributed in exchange for the construction of 25 vessels of the fishermen. In the framework of quotas Nakhodka shipyard has entered into eight shipbuilding contracts for the construction of eight ships for St. krabolovy CCa 5712 LS with the equipment for keeping the crab alive. They will all be built from 2020 to 2024. This year it is planned to complete the construction of the first three courts.

According to the Minister of the Russian Federation on development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexander Kozlov, the first projects for the construction of fishermen shows that the far Eastern shipyards can compete with the shipyards in Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg. “The construction of ships in the far East will help to support our shipbuilders will enable companies to increase competencies, create new jobs, and further implement another very important principle: “where the catch is, there are repairing”. It is very important to upgrade the fishing fleet where more than 70% of vessels that are now fishing, are in high degree of wear,” he said.
