Guilherme Arana Addresses PSG Interest for the First Time

Guilherme Arana, the left-back for Atlético and a member of the Brazilian National Team for the Copa América, spoke out about PSG’s interest in signing him during a press conference. The news was revealed by journalist Jorge Nicola.

“I honestly saw some news. But, so far, nothing has come. It has always been a dream to play in European football, I had a first experience there that wasn’t so good, but it served as a learning opportunity for my growth in football. Honestly, I am very calm, I am very happy at Atlético, also very happy with the National Team. I am 100% focused on my work here and I leave proposals, interests to my agents, my family,” said Guilherme Arana.

Before joining Galo, the defender had a stint in Europe. He was sold by Corinthians to Sevilla, in Spain, in 2017, and played on loan at Atalanta, in Italy, before returning to Brazil.

Signed in 2020, Guilherme Arana has become a key player at the left-back position for Atlético and has once again been called up to the Brazilian National Team. The player is under contract with the club until 2027 and has already played 196 matches wearing the black and white jersey.

Guilherme Arana Absence for Galo
The Brazilian Championship is suspended until the 11th due to the FIFA dates, which includes two friendly matches for the Brazilian National Team and the start of preparations for the Copa América. As the competition continues during the international tournament, Guilherme Arana may miss up to nine matches for Galo.
In just the group stage of the mentioned tournament, the number 13 shirt will miss six Atlético games: RB Bragantino (away), Palmeiras (home), Vitória (away), Fortaleza (home), Internacional (away/to be defined), and Atlético-GO (home). Depending on Brazil’s success, he will be absent for coach Gabriel Milito from the 8th to the 16th round.
