Speculation at PSG, Arana highlights happiness at Atletico and preaches focus on the Brazilian National Team

In recent days, speculation has arisen that Paris Saint-Germain, from France, has approached the staff of left-back Guilherme Arana, loaned by Atletico to the Brazilian National Team for the Copa America in the USA. When asked about the matter at a press conference on Monday (10), Galo’s number 13 said he is delighted at the club and emphasized focus on the current moment.
According to Arana, he has seen news, but nothing has reached him. Despite talking about the dream of playing in Europe, having had spells in Spain and Italy, he leaves such matters to his agents: “I saw some news. But, so far, nothing has come. It has always been a dream to play in European football, I had a first pass there not so good, however, it served as a learning experience for my growth in football. Honestly, I am very calm, I am very happy at Atletico, also very happy in the National Team. I am 100% focused on my work here, and I leave proposals, interests to my agents, my family. My mind is focused on my work here.”
A starter in Brazil’s 3-2 victory over Mexico last Saturday (8), Arana arrived at Cidade do Galo in 2020 and has a contract with Atletico until the end of 2027. One of the protagonists of Gabriel Milito’s team, the left-back has scored three goals and provided six assists in 25 games this season.
Overall, the full-back has accumulated 196 games, 19 goals, and 31 assists with the club and has been a key figure in the achievements of the PentaCAMpeonato Mineiro (2020-2024), the Brazilian Championship, and the Brazilian Cup in 2021, and the Brazilian Super Cup in 2022.
