on 22 June 1941 the Great Patriotic war. For 79 years the terrible memories of veterans about how the bottom has almost disappeared from the memory of future generations. To avoid this, the team Director Oleg Agacheva made a small series according to the memoirs of witnesses of the war. But it is not made for widescreen format, and for storis in Instagram. 6 short stories and only 24 hours to get to see them.

Nearly 80 years ago, the current veterans saw with my own eyes the crumbling of the usual peaceful life, and at the risk themselves, resisted the Nazi oppression. And now in pandemic, health was once again under attack. Most live in nursing homes. They cannot visit relatives and volunteers. They just fade away without attention and love. The Director of the project Oleg Ageichev sure that the “Vanishing of history” will draw attention to the problem of the elderly. And, importantly, tell the youth about one of the most important pages in the history of the country. And as clear as possible for the Z generation language.

Why did you decide to tell veterans ‘ stories through Instagram?

the Modern world is so constituted that a huge number of people publish every day storis in Instagram. And all his life perceived through the prism of these short videos as a sequence of small pieces, replacing each other. We all want attention. But there are people for whom it is vital. They do not store social network live in nursing homes. A huge number of them across the country! And our attention can really improve and prolong their lives. I saw this problem and figured how to solve it visually and dramatically. Back then, the team had the idea to use as the basis for the mechanics and format of Insta-stories. Because they disappear in the same way as older people in nursing homes unattended. We want to run deep, sentimental feelings in people. And through the youth audience, the main “consumers” of storys to tell about problem of the elderly.

But the idea of the show was secondary. At first, we thought to film the life stories of veterans of the young filmmakers to shoot a few short films to send to film festivals and thus to draw attention to the subject. But then the idea was born to use the mechanics of stories and make history itself eludes the audience.

— How was this idea received by veterans?

They are now in critical condition — miss in the nursing homes unattended and guests. And volunteers come very rarely. Now, the number of visitors has decreased to zero. Of course, the condition of abandonment is now compounded. And it absolutely does not improve their quality of life and, of course, not extends it. According to research, attention to the elderly do their state improves and prolongs life. In this situation, there is probably a reverse process.

Coronavirus was difficult to find biographic stories. Due to a virus we couldn’t risk talking with older people. There were even remote interaction. But in the end, the volunteers and nurses were able to help us. They collected biographical material from veterans, and we turned it into a drama.

How long is each series?

— we only Have nine series. Each of them lasts from half to two minutes. They are specially-made and installed so that the mechanics of cutting Instagram got exactly our cut. Out of the series will be on twice a week for a month. 21 July.

— Will they then assembled in a single film or will disappear in a day forever?

— We do not plan to collect them into one big movie, because the plot does not imply this. Although nine of our stories there is one two-part and three-part one. Perhaps we will gather in the whole movie, but yet not think about it — except on the Internet, there is no movie rental vertical. Maybe send it to some festivals, but obviously fall into the experimental category or out of competition. All series will be available for download. And everyone can extend their lifetime by posting in Instagram. Already did Nonna Grishaeva and Rodion Gazmanov.

Which of the six stories struck you?

— They are all very strong and voluminous. Surprisingly, in all, on the one hand, through horror, on the other — a kind of dullness of the tragedy of war. Amazed at how people talked about it, as he wrote in his biography, and then what pictures are born in my head. Actually I like all of our stories. For example, the first “Lighter”. It’s a whole new world and a new cut ideas about war — looked like Moscow girls 14-16 years and what they were doing during the war. They ran across rooftops and did not allow incendiary bombs to burn, for example, Maryina Roshcha, which was almost entirely wooden. Of course, it’s impressive: I imagine the firebomb and the child is a little older than my daughter, which forced the bomb to extinguish and can burn at any time. That’s impressive.

Or the story of a girl from a small town Belev that, it is unclear why, send with little preparation in the exploration of the village, in the occupied territory, occupied by the Germans. She is captured, tortured her, and the environment so casually with it. For modern man it looks like “after the interview we will call you back”. Of course, this is very impressive. You can see the General condition of the people for whom the feat is not a feat, but just an event.
