Worrying scenes in the Rostock district of Lichtenhagen on Thursday evening: A 26-year-old German was driven through the streets by a group of 20 to 30 people. According to police reports, eight of the mob members repeatedly punched and kicked the man.

A witness tried to prevent the agitation by shouting. This didn’t work, according to the police. The woman then drove her car around the people to let the man into the car. A 15-year-old German attacker was hit by the car and slightly injured in the arm.

The police were able to arrest two people on site who apparently belonged to the group of attackers. They are also two 15-year-old Germans. The attackers apparently said they assumed the 26-year-old was a man who was currently being warned about on social media. No further details have been known yet. The mob victim sustained minor injuries.

In each case, the police have initiated investigations into serious breach of the peace and grievous bodily harm. The officers are now looking for witnesses to the incident who should contact the Lichtenhagen police station on 0381/77070. Witness information can also be reported via the internet watchdog at www.polizei.mvnet.de or any other police station.
