Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Edward Norton and several other Hollywood heavyweights appear in the intriguing trailer for Asteroid City, the new movie from director Wes Anderson.

Posted Wednesday morning, the 2 minute 45 second preview reveals the main lines of the feature film, which is expected in theaters on June 16. The action of Asteroid City is set in the heart of the desert in 1955, in a fictional city in the United States. The film will tell how a series of events of global resonance will disrupt the course of a scholarly competition bringing together parents and students from across the country.

The cast also includes Jason Schwartzman, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan and Jeff Goldblum. In addition to directing, Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Tenenbaum Family) produces and signs the screenplay for the feature film, his first since The French Dispatch in 2021.
