In North Rhine-Westphalia, a ten-year-old boy chased away two burglars by shouting at them loudly. The boy was home alone when the two men smashed the glass of the patio door. However, his screams quickly moved the uninvited guests to flee – empty-handed.

A ten-year-old boy in the district of Herford (NRW) drove two burglars off his parents’ property by shouting loudly. According to the police on Thursday, the boy was alone at home in the morning when the perpetrators tried to get into the apartment building in Vlotho. They smashed the window of the patio door. The boy then shouted at them loudly and fled through the garden. The ten-year-old then informed his mother and the police.

The child is doing well under the circumstances, officials said. A search for the unknown men, who are said to be between 40 and 50 years old, was initially unsuccessful. Police were appealing for witnesses to the incident on Wednesday.
