Vuelta a Espana will be run at the scheduled dates and follow the planned route, says the director.

There are no plans to postpone the Vuelta a Espana or change cykelløbets route, even though the coronavirus so far has had implications for virtually all sports in the year.

It says race director Javier Guillen.

– As it looks right now, so remain the Vuelta-the dates, as they are, and we are considering not a race with less than 21 stages, he said to the Spanish newspaper AS, according to AFP.

But the speculation gives Javier Guillen not much.

– All of this is just speculation, that comes from Italy. We know that it is difficult to combine the race with pre-determined dates, with the other there must be reorganised, so we know that we must be flexible, if it gets updated with a date change, he says.

Javier Guillén believes that it should be a priority to get settled, Tour de France, which is set to start 27. June, when the race according to the Vuelta-the director is “an indispensable part of the sport”.
