MOSCOW, February 16. /TASS/. The United States is working on small-size space weapons that would be capable of knocking out Russian spacecraft, Chief of the Mozhaisky Military Space Academy General-Major Anatoly Nestechuk said on Thursday.”What’s known as small combat spacecraft is under development, and certain samples have already been developed and are undergoing trials. They are able to perform a covert maneuver, closely approach our spacecraft and knock it out,” the General said at a roundtable dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) of the US and the space militarization program.Though the US program closed in 1993, de-facto it still exists nowadays, Nestechuk said. “The SDI program did not end; it continues in new transformations and positions,” the General added.
