Moscow Theater Et Cetera has opened its 30th anniversary season. Artistic Director Alexander Kalyagin spoke about the premieres that the audience will see in the near future, as well as about other upcoming projects.

The first premiere of the season was a comedy about a play by humorist writer Evgeny Shestakov, it was shown on September 8. There are four main characters on the stage: two women, a divorced man and a mysterious being who calls himself a Brit. The director of the play is the artist Et Cetera Kirill Loskutov, he also performs one of the roles. The rest of the characters are played by Elizaveta Ryzhykh, Anastasia Beluga and Amadou Mamadakov. The next screenings of the play will take place on September 15, 22 and 29.

The next art project will take place on October 16. It will be a musical and fabulous performance for children and parents. The artistic director is the pianist Boris Berezovsky.

The premiere of the play on the little-known play of the same name by Alexander Ostrovsky is scheduled for December. Marina Brusnikina, the artistic director of the Praktika Theater, will work on the production.

Also at the end of the year, the audience will see the premiere of a play based on the play of the same name by Nikolai Erdman, written in 1925. A modern comedy in the authentic traditions of Nikolai Gogol and Alexander Sukhovo-Kobylin will be staged by the laureate of the Russian National Theater Award “Golden Mask” Vladimir Pankov, artistic director of the Center for Drama and Directing.

The young director Murat Abulkatinov will turn to the story of Yuri Trifonov. Honored Artist of Russia, winner of the Golden Mask Adolf Shapiro is also preparing a performance, details about it have not yet been reported. Alexander Kalyagin will also create a new production — he will transfer the stories of Valentin Kataev to the stage.

This season Et Cetera starts a new project together with GITIS. Graduates of Oleg Kudryashov’s workshop will participate in it. The first rehearsals of the performances will begin in January 2023.

In addition, guests will see video versions of legendary theater productions that have long been out of the repertoire.

Screenings of recordings of legendary productions will be accompanied by meetings with participants and theater critics. Admission is free, upon registration. Links to registration will be published on the official website of the theater.
