The transportation of high-ranking officials is familiar to US Air Force pilots. On their flight from Poland to Washington, they suspected the US ambassador to be in their machine. According to the media report, the pilots only noticed after landing near Washington which important passenger they were actually transporting.
Hardly anyone was aware of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s big plans to visit the USA and its President Joe Biden as its most important ally on the 301st day after the start of the war. Fearing Russian attacks on the route, not even the US Air Force pilots knew that Zelenskyy would be coming on board.
As reported by the Washington Post, when the crew landed in Reszow, Poland, they assumed they were transporting the US ambassador to Ukraine and other high-ranking officials from the war-torn country.
They are said to have only noticed that one of these high-ranking officials was Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj personally after landing, when Zelenskyj got off the plane.
The secret preparations are common when high-ranking officials and politicians travel from war zones. Zelenskyj is the Russians’ top target.
