After its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Shadow of the Crows hits theaters in English and French on June 2.

Shot in English and directed by Marie Clements, the film stars Grace Dove, Joshua Odjick and Phillip Lewitski, not to mention Rémy Girard and Karine Vanasse, who portray members of the clergy more than 20 years after starring together in Séraphin – Un Homme and his sin.

The Shadow of Crows recounts the decades-long journey of Cree matriarch Aline Spears. From her childhood spent in the Canadian residential school system to her fight which led her to the Vatican in particular.
