the Ministry of health of Russia on Friday, 27 March, updated recommendations for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a new type of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes atypical pneumonia COVID-19. The document is published on the Ministry’s website on Friday.

The recommendations and added new sections dedicated to the treatment of infection in pregnant women and those who recently gave birth to a child. In the new version of the list of possible recommendations for the appointment of medicines for the treatment of COVID-19 in adults was expanded from four to six items. This etiotropic drugs, which in other countries have been used in the treatment of patients with SARS-related coronaviruses SARS-CoV and MERSCoV. But they should be used in combination:
lopinavir and ritonavir – in combination (used in therapy of HIV),
chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine (anti-malaria treatment),
recombinant interferon Beta 1b (IFN-β1b) (used in multiple sclerosis),
recombinant interferon alpha 2b (IFN-A2B) (used in hepatitis C).

for the treatment of COVID-19 may prescription drugs tocilizumab and carisoma, commonly used to combat rheumatoid arthritis. But the application of tocilizumab against the coronavirus was more studied in China on patients with severe respiratory distress syndrome. There in most cases, tocilizumab was achieved in most patients, normalization of body temperature, reduction of clinical symptoms and the need for oxygen after a single injection of the drug (400 mg intravenously).

“Among drugs that are under clinical trials in patients with COVID-19, can be noted as umifenovir, ramdevpir, favipiravir. According to published reports, these drugs today can also be used in the treatment of patients with COVID-19″, – the document says. In this case, however, it is noted that currently available information is insufficient to make an unambiguous conclusion about the effectiveness of the drugs.

the Russian Ministry of health also emphasizes that the coronavirus increases deaths by abortion and childbirth, increases the number of complications – obstetric hemorrhage, intrauterine fetal death, the development of respiratory failure and postnatal purulent-septic infections.

Informed in the Ministry of health recommended that doctors prescribe meds to people with chronic diseases with the maximum validity period to reduce the number of visits to clinics. The health Ministry also reminded that prescription drugs to citizens suffering from chronic diseases, for the quarantine period instead of the patient will be able to give to relatives, friends or volunteers.
