Rambler wrote that the senators submitted to the State Duma a draft law banning the adoption of children by persons of the same sex, including transgender, as well as marriages between them. The initiative came from a number of Federation Council members, including Elena Mizulina, Rimma Galushkina and Lyudmila Narusova.
The initiative of senators divided users into two camps. Some of them stressed the importance of passing such a law, stating that it will protect women.

However, other participants in the discussions in social networks pointed to the fact that “the family institution is falling apart, not the transgender and gay”.

As part of the user wryly noted that in Russia children are brought up by same-sex couples consisting of a mother and grandmother, and urged the authorities to allow marriages between transgender people, forbidding to give their children up for adoption.
