the Appellate body of the world trade organization partially supported the appeal of Ukraine’s dispute with Russia on the import of railway cars. The WTO agreed with Kiev on two counts. The Ministry of economic development of Russia decision of the appellate authority is satisfied, reports RIA Novosti.
the WTO confirmed that Russia was no systematic violations of the agreement technical barriers to trade. Russia dramatically reduced imports of railway products from Ukraine because of the actions of the authorities (as claimed by Kiev), and due to the effect of other, including economic, reasons.
the Appellate body disagreed with the findings of the arbitration panel about the issuance and suspension of certificates previously issued. He also noted violations by Russia.
the Dispute about the carriages between Russia and Ukraine lasts from 2015. Ukraine has filed a lawsuit, accusing Moscow in the unreasonable reduction of the supply wagons and other railway equipment from Ukraine. The panel fully agreed with the position of the Russian Federation, then Ukraine appealed to the WTO.
