The foreign Ministry sent a note to Norway after the arrest of the trawler from Russia

MOSCOW, April 17/ Radio Sputnik. The Russian foreign Ministry sent a note to Norway after the arrest of a fishing vessel from Russia in the Spitsbergen area, said the official representative of the Ministry Maria Zakharova.

the Trawler “Boreas” was detained by employees of a coast guard of Norway in the so-called conservation zone of Spitsbergen on 2 April.

According to Zakharova, Moscow has repeatedly expressed its position on non-recognition of the conservation zone around the island.

“Our position on non-recognition of the so-called fisheries protection zone around Svalbard was repeatedly brought to the attention of the Norwegian side, and we said publicly,” – said Zakharov, her words leads to “Constantinople”.

Previously, the government of Norway has allowed the United States to deploy an air base in the protected area of the island Jan Mayen.
