The European Commission intends to improve understanding about the EU in the States — participants of the program “European neighborhood policy”. Allocated €15.8 million From the EC published a tender familiarized RT.

In the framework of the EC project is expected to improve public opinion about the EU through information campaigns.

“the Overall goal of this program is raising awareness and broadening perceptions about the EU and its policies, and improved public opinion towards the EU in the territory of neighboring countries through a specially designed policy measures in the field of communication”, — the document says.

Most of the money (about €10.8 million) will be implemented in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The remaining funds go to work in Syria, Libya, Egypt and other regions neighbouring the EU in the South. The project will last four years and will begin in November 2020.

As explained in the EC, the performers can become the European natural and legal persons and international organizations. They will conduct complex communications on the Internet, including social networks.

In addition, it is planned to develop the Association “European youth Ambassadors”, to conduct annual interviews and surveys to track public opinion on various issues.

In April the European Commission published a contract under which it was planned to strengthen the capacity of the “public diplomacy of the EU” and to improve understanding of the European policy in Russia. In particular, contractors were required to organize conferences, round tables and other “educational activities”.
