Rick bright was dismissed from the post of Director of the Department of biomedical research and development (BARD) in the Ministry of health and social services. The representative of the Ministry stated that it is now bright will head the new government project: public-private partnership to develop vaccines. This, observers say, is a significant demotion.

According to bright, the resignation was due to his criticism of the investment in the production of malaria drugs (of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine), which some considered potentially suitable for the treatment of COVID-19.

In particular, trump touting it in their press briefings without presenting any scientific evidence of its effectiveness. But in a press there were rumors that trump has a personal interest, in particular, actions of the manufacturer of this drug.

Bright said that he has instructed the officials of the BARD to limit the wide use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19. Earlier, Robert Redfield, Director of the Federal Agency of the Centers for control and prevention (CDC) of the USA, said that the test of chloroquine showed a "poor results" during its use by patients in hospitals for us military veterans. About 28 percent who were given hydroxychloroquine, died, compared with 11 percent of those who received only usual care. Last week, 11 of the 81 volunteers who took part in trials of chloroquine in Brazil, died from acute heart failure.
