Defrocked and disgraced priest Sergiy (Nikolay Romanov) in the course of his regular preaching again appealed to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and several high Church dignitaries. On Friday, July 17, according to Ura.ru.
“Stand with me, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Patriarch Kirill, Metropolitan Hilarion, Metropolitan Kirill. Stand beside me and say you’ll die for those who will ask. Do you believe what they do?”, — said the Abbot, speaking to his supporters.
In response, believers shouted: “No.”
Earlier in July, Sergius had already appealed to Putin. Then he demanded that the President gave him his powers, threatening “full-scale spiritual war.” The founder of Sredneuralskaya convent said that “no blood, no Maidan, no revolutions will not be”.
July 6, a resident of Yekaterinburg complained of Sergius to the police, seeing in his words a violation of article 319 of the criminal code on insulting a representative of authorities — a woman believes that the priest spoke disrespectfully about the President and spread of this inaccurate information. Sergius was deposed and the Church court found him guilty of violating the oath of priestly and monastic vows, the decision must be approved by the Patriarch.
On 5 June it was reported that in the preaching of chiyoumen, where he denies coronavirus, found a violation of article 20.3.1 of the administrative code (“inciting hatred or enmity, and humiliation of human dignity”), the material was sent to the Prosecutor’s office which decides on initiation of administrative proceedings.
