Whether it’s a smartphone, headphones or a fully automatic coffee machine – those who buy test winners don’t make any compromises. You don’t have to spend a lot of money because of this: Many devices that took first place in the test by our colleagues from CHIP or by Stiftung Warentest are now available at significantly lower prices. We show the champions in the price check.

For a long time, no iPhone made it to first place in the mobile phone leaderboard at CHIP. Now the iPhone 14 Pro Max is at the top. But the new Apple flagship is definitely not a bargain. The manufacturer’s non-binding price seems to be cemented for the popular 256 GB model, but in return there is outstanding performance, long battery life and excellent video quality.

It’s a bit different if you don’t know what to do with Apple and are looking for the best Android smartphone at a budget price. Then, according to the CHIP testers, you should go for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. It is currently available for just under 1,000 euros. These are the best prices for the two devices from the price comparison colleagues at BestCheck.de:

The Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 15 is currently at the top of the CHIP notebook list: display, performance and handling are rated “very good”, while equipment and battery life are rated “good” in the test report. A bit more endurance would be desirable, especially in the office area.

Otherwise, one complains here on a very high level: The Intel Core i7-1260 has enough power for office, video streaming and creative work. The highlight is the brightly lit OLED touch display including HDR support, which you can operate with the supplied stylus.

For a long time, Sony was at the top of the CHIP headphone leaderboard. In the meantime, however, the Sony WH-1000XM5 and Sony WH-1000XM5 have been replaced by the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless. The model achieves a “very good” in practically all disciplines. In the test, CHIP emphasizes these points in particular:

Unfortunately, the ear cups can only be rotated, but not folded in. The headphones can therefore not be stowed away quite so compactly.

A coffee in between – why not? But in first place at CHIP is a manufacturer that you probably wouldn’t expect there: Siemens is ahead with the Siemens TI9558X1DE EQ.9 plus connect s500.

Overall, the CHIP rating is “very good”. The device works fairly quietly, makes excellent coffee and offers many options for setting personal preferences. Disadvantages: It is expensive and bulky, and there are splashes when the coffee is dispensed.

If you want it to be the best TV currently available, you should go for the Sony XR-65A95K. CHIP certifies the 65-incher very good performance in all areas in the test report.

A special eye-catcher are the very intense colors that are currently unparalleled. The equipment is lavish, there is also a webcam. But their image quality is not really convincing. If the colleagues from the test center had been granted a wish, the missing HDR10 would have been at the top of the list.

If a new vacuum cleaner is needed – if possible without a cable, then Stiftung Warentest recommends the Bosch BSS825CARP. No other cordless vacuum cleaner tested achieved this good rating.

Not only is it excellent at picking up dirt and dust, it is also easy to handle. It’s a bit loud on carpeted floors, but it’s restrained when it comes to power consumption and shows good endurance.

Of course, new parents only want the best for their child. In order to be there quickly when the little one cries, we recommend purchasing a baby monitor. At Stiftung Warentest, the Avent SCD713 performs excellently.

The assessment of the testers: The device from Philips has a decent sound transmission, lasts a long time and can be used very well in stressful everyday family life.

The Siemens WM16XM92 made it among the best washing machines at Stiftung Warentest, but was not the only winner. There are several test winners with the same number of points. However, the Siemens machine particularly stands out in the main discipline and is even structurally identical to the somewhat more expensive Bosch WAX32M92.

The Siemens WM16XM92 does not show any real weaknesses: it completed the endurance test without any defects, is easy to handle and the environmental properties are also good. You don’t have to be afraid of water damage with the model either.

Compared to classic books, an e-book reader requires significantly less space and accommodates a complete library on its internal memory. For years, Amazon has dominated here with its Kindle models. The current test winner is the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition.

The colleagues from the CHIP test center praise the e-book reader for its sharp display with good color control, the super performance and the lavish memory. There is also a strong battery life, which is particularly important for bookworms. If desired, the special Kindle Edition can also be charged wirelessly. But one issue remains: you are dependent on Amazon drips for your book purchases.

The test winner among the smartwatches comes from Apple. While the Apple Watch Series 7 was at the top before the facelift, it now had to make way for the Apple Watch Series 8. The new generation goes a step further in all disciplines. Big limitation: The full range of functions is only available in combination with an iPhone.

The CHIP leaderboard currently advises Android users to use the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic, with the successor also in the starting blocks. The smartwatch scores with intuitive operation and many functions. The shortcoming in the test was the battery life. And Samsung does it a bit like Apple: To enjoy all the functions, you need a Samsung smartphone.
