“Long journey” is over: Already after his victory in the first qualifying round on Monday, Kohlschreiber had announced his farewell: “This will be my last tournament. Eight tournament wins: The Bavarian earned a total of 13.7 million dollars in prize money, won eight ATP tournaments and rose to 16th place in the world rankings. Kohlschreiber reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon in 2012 – his best result in a Grand Slam tournament. In the world rankings, the right-hander had recently fallen back to 230th place.
