In Ukraine, the police detained a gang that was involved in the theft of icons. About it reports the UNIAN with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General of the country.
As it became known, a group of persons committed theft including antique icons in the period from 2018 to 2020 in Ukraine. The last one was stolen three icons 1860 from the temple of Sharhorod district, Vinnytsia region, on 30 April 2020.
Law enforcement officers conducted the detention of the organizer and two members of the group. According to the results they have seized a large number of icons, as well as instrumentalities of crime.
Detainees charged under the theft in the large size, connected with illegal penetration into the room. It is expected the election concerning them a preventive measure.
