The police confirmed that there was a major operation involving several patrol cars and rescue workers on Kantstrasse in the evening, directly in front of a paint shop.
Apparently several shots were fired here. A man (35), who was presumably working on a Volvo in front of the paint shop, was shot and injured. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Fortunately, his life is not in danger. Several patrol cars searched for the perpetrator, including the Hamburg police helicopter “Libelle”. A special unit was also called in.
According to witnesses, a suspect was arrested nearby. Police and emergency services did not initially provide any further details; the investigation is ongoing. The crime scene has been cordoned off and the police are now securing evidence.
