The manufacturer Modern Chocolate GmbH is recalling biscuits because of a possible risk from harmful substances. The product “Aldiva Einhorn-Kekse 220g” from the company based in Dreieich in the Offenbach district is affected, as the official portal “lebensmittelalarm.de” announced on Wednesday.
In product tests, increased levels of 3-MCPD and glycidol were found in confectionery. These substances could be hazardous to health, which is why consumption is not recommended. Products with a best-before date of April 21, 2023 are affected.
