Elvis Presley’s only daughter died almost three weeks ago. On February 2nd she would have been 55 years old.

Almost three weeks after the sudden death of Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie Presley, her mother, Priscilla Presley, remembered the deceased. “Today would have been Lisa’s 55th birthday,” the 77-year-old actress wrote on Instagram on Wednesday alongside multiple photos of her daughter as a child and as an adult. “It is my desire to protect my three grandchildren and keep our family together,” she continued.

Lisa Marie Presley was the only child of rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley, who died in 1977 at the age of 42. At that time, the parents were already divorced. The Elvis daughter, herself a singer, died on January 12 after a medical emergency. Family, friends and fans recently said goodbye at a memorial service at Elvis’ Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee. She is survived by daughter Riley Keough, 33, and 14-year-old twin daughters. Son Benjamin Keough took his own life in 2020 at the age of 27.

The family is now involved in an inheritance dispute. Priscilla Presley has questioned the authenticity of her daughter’s will in court. People.com, citing the documents, reported that according to an older will, Priscilla Presley and a former business executive acted as trustees, but in 2016 Lisa Marie Presley reportedly left the vast fortune to her own children.

Priscilla Presley now wants to have her deletion from the estate declared invalid. She cites several reasons, it said. For example, she raises doubts about the authenticity of her deceased daughter’s signature. In addition, the change should not have been notarized.
