Saakashvili promised not to make a show in the Ukrainian government

the Former President of Georgia and former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili, whom the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky was offered the post of Vice-Premier in the government, told the TV channel “Ukraine 24” about their plans. The video is available on YouTube.

the Politician promised that will not bring the Georgian team, as it was in government during the presidency of Petro Poroshenko. “I think there’s enough the Ukrainians that they have found their place and role in life. (…) Know how much fun parliamentarians [in the Parliament] sitting?” — he answered the corresponding question.

Saakashvili stated that “I am not going to put on a show” as “go”. He called “complete nonsense” the suggestion that after some time after the possible appointment of a quarrel with Zelensky as well as earlier quarreled with Poroshenko. “Even if nobody expects me to be attacking him”, — assured Saakashvili, calling the President a brave man.

on 22 April it became known that Zelensky invited Saakashvili to take the post of Deputy Prime Minister for reform. He accepted the offer and promised soon to present to Parliament the anti-crisis program. The official appointment of Saakashvili could take place this coming Friday, April 24.

In may 2015, who was then President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko gave the Georgian policy of the Ukrainian citizenship, and appointed him Governor of Odessa region. This position, Saakashvili held a one and a half years, and then joined the opposition to the President.

in the Summer of 2017, Poroshenko deprived Saakashvili of citizenship, and in February of 2018 Ukrainian security services detained him, were expelled from the country and banned until 2021. Ukraine’s new President Vladimir Zelensky has restored the citizenship of Saakashvili. The politician returned to Ukraine on may 29, 2019.
