Moscow sees no reason to trust the hypothetical arguments in Washington that the United States can reconsider its decision on withdrawal from the Treaty on open skies, if Russia will fulfill the requirements of the United States, said RIA Novosti Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

Monday held an online conference of the countries-participants of the Treaty, which was convened after the U.S. decision to withdraw from the Treaty.

Ryabkov said that the Russian side at the conference presented their assessment of the situation around the Treaty, including, in particular, the consequences that might result from the exit of the United States, and the reasons for such a step.

"Since many participants talked about the fact that let us look at the reasons and put forward, including, we claim, we exercise the right of reply could not comment. We made detailed presentations, thoroughly outlined our approaches and explained why in the absence of credibility of U.S. arguments that if Russia will do so-and-so, then the US may consider returning to the Treaty – why we are not convinced," Ryabkov said.

He stressed that "a genre in itself extension such ultimatums is unacceptable". "But even if you ignore the genre, it is quite clear that in the current environment, when the Americans dismantled one by one various contracts and agreements, there is no reason to trust their signals, the more so vague", – said the Deputy Minister.
