Russian scientists have proved the possibility of life on Mars

Russian scientists at the space research Institute of RAS experimentally proved the possibility of life on Mars. They studied the ability of microbes to survive on the planet’s surface, creating a similar environment.

Researchers are working on microorganisms radiation in conditions of low temperature and pressure. It turned out that the majority of fungi and bacteria in such environment to survive, reports RIA Novosti.

As stated in the materials of the experiment, the impact “caused significant damage to the bacterial complex.”

Also, the experimenters examined the soil of the Mojave desert, similar in composition to the Martian, and found that it contains a high concentration of microorganisms that are resistant to the influence of temperature.

Earlier NEWS.ru reported that the inventory of water on Mars will be enough for the future colonizers for quite a long time. This was announced by head of the laboratory for neutron and gamma-ray spectroscopy Department of nuclear planetology space research Institute of RAS Maxim Litvak.
