Russia will increase energy generation from renewable sources by 7 gigawatts, Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Snikkars said in an interview with RG at the Eastern Economic Forum.

“We expect that the second program will bring about 7 gigawatts of additional capacity or even more, ” Snikkars said. (Russia currently consumes about 150 gigawatts of energy-ed.)

According to the representative of the Ministry of Energy, about 360 billion rubles will be allocated to support the generation of energy from renewable sources until 2030. To receive support, companies will be selected on a competitive basis.

At the same time, the production of components for generating stations – wind turbines, solar panels-is quite well localized in Russia. Thanks to this, the generation of “green” energy will increase, Pavel Snikkars noted.
