An immediate ceasefire is needed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, said on 13 July, Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the Russian foreign Ministry.

During the telephone talks that the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation held separately with counterparts from the two republics, Lavrov “called on the parties to an immediate ceasefire”.

The Russian side called on Yerevan and Baku to show restraint “with the assumptions” and proposals made by the representatives of Russia, the United States and France “as co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk group”.

Lavrov said during talks with his counterparts from Azerbaijan and Armenia, that Russia will continue to act as a mediator in the dialogue of these two republics.

As previously reported IA REGNUM, between Armenia and Azerbaijan was an armed conflict: July 12, on the border of the two republics was used artillery. There are dead (three people) and wounded.
