Kirill Logvinov, Acting Permanent Representative of Russia to the European Union (EU), outlined to Michael Siebert, Managing Director of the European Foreign Policy Service for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the position on the past referendums on the entry of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into Russia. This is stated in the press release of the Russian department.

During the meeting, Siebert announced the upcoming next package of sanctions against Russia from the EU.
“In turn, the Russian side has once again outlined the illegitimate and unjustified nature of such unilateral measures, which only undermine global energy and food security, as well as worsen the socio-economic situation of the Europeans themselves,” the ministry said.
In addition, the Russian side stated that the implementation of the idea of creating an EU mission to support the Kiev regime would be interpreted as “direct involvement of the European Union as an opposing party in the conflict in Ukraine with all the consequences that follow from this.”
On September 30, Putin signed agreements on the entry of four new regions into the country. The ceremony took place in the St. George’s Hall of the Kremlin, where a similar agreement with Crimea was signed in 2014.
