The purpose of the lunar program of the USA – the establishment of a NATO space in which America will take on a leading role. In an interview with the website kp.ru said the head of the state Corporation Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin.
According to him, for Americans, the lunar program is a big political project, the implementation of which the United States departed from the principle of cooperation, which followed when working on the ISS.
Rogozin believes that the US review its programme and not as an international but as similar to NATO.
"Is America, everyone else should help and pay" – described the program last fall.
Earlier, the National Aeronautics and space administration (NASA) of the United States and Japan concluded an agreement on cooperation in the exploration of the moon.
In 2019, NASA announced the moon program Artemis, which will consist of three stages. The first involves unmanned flight of the Orion spacecraft around the moon in the second half of 2020, and his return to Earth. The second stage is planned for 2022 and involves the circling of Earth’s natural satellite with the crew on Board. In the third stage of the mission, NASA plans to carry out the landing of astronauts on the moon in 2024.
