Putin the fears of the past are gradually being overcome in the post Soviet space

TASS, April 19. Fears of a revival of the Soviet Union in post-Soviet countries are gradually being overcome, as the pooling of efforts would benefit all. This opinion was expressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin in interview to the program “Moscow. The Kremlin. Putin” on TV channel “Russia-1”.

“you Have right to say about it: overcoming something the fears of the past, overcoming fears about the revival of the Soviet Union and the Soviet Empire, still understanding that combining efforts [is] to the benefit of all, making headway is inevitable”, — said the Russian leader.

“For the republics of the former Soviet Union it is an absolutely natural thing,” — said Putin.

Putin said that it was not necessary while to hurry with the extension of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU), which now includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

“We are not in a hurry neither to expand nor to jump over certain stages. Because we look at the development of integration processes in other regions of the world, in Europe, there have been many difficulties”, — said the head of state. According to him, “so we have to move gradually, without haste.”

“Always the achieved solution is a compromise, and that means somebody somebody, to something inferior, and the ideal situation at first glance, no,” — said the Russian leader. “But she’s perfect in the sense that the folded system of relations allows us to achieve compromises,” he said.

“This is the result that we do not follow the way of pressure, arm-twisting. And when these compromises are achieved on a voluntary basis, they are executed and become real working” — says the head of the Russian state.
