MOSCOW, 16 APR – RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted for ratification to the state Duma the agreement between Russia and Cambodia on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, the document was published in electronic database of the lower house of Parliament.
the explanatory Memorandum States that under the agreement, the parties shall on request provide each other legal assistance in investigations, court proceedings or other legal proceedings associated with criminal cases. The contract also defines the conditions under which the types and volume of rendering of legal assistance, the requirements to the form and content of requests for assistance, as well as the order of execution of the request.
In conclusion, the government document notes that the Treaty’s entry into force will strengthen cooperation in mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, which is one of the most important components of international cooperation in the fight against crime.
