Images have emerged showing extensive missile systems deployed near Vladimir Putin’s residences in Russia, reports independent Russian news agency Agentstvo Novosti. Meanwhile, the Russian military leadership is increasingly concerned about attacks on their own cities.
The images showed a Pantsir-S1 air defense system installed near the president’s hideout in Valdai, Novgorod region. Another missile system of this type is located very close to Putin’s official residence near Moscow. Agentstvo Novosti stated that the “air defense systems protect President Vladimir Putin and his family from a possible Ukrainian attack.”

Experts interpret these protective measures to mean that Putin may be afraid that Ukraine could win the war and that he feels the need to be protected from Ukrainian drones or missiles.

Putin’s spokesman reportedly declined to comment on Moscow’s anti-aircraft defenses, saying it was up to the Defense Ministry to explain.
