Twelve people were injured on board a passenger plane. The plane encountered severe turbulence. Not all details are known yet.

A passenger plane encountered severe turbulence in Turkish airspace. Twelve people on board the Qatar Airways plane were injured. Dublin Airport announced this on Sunday. 

Six of those affected are said to be crew members, the others were passengers. The plane was traveling from Doha to the Irish capital. Nothing was initially known about the severity of the injuries.

“Qatar Airways flight QR017 from Doha landed safely at Dublin Airport at the announced time of 1pm on Sunday,” said a statement from the airport on Platform X. The aircraft was met upon landing by rescue workers, airport police and firefighters.

Just a few days ago, a Singapore Airlines plane encountered severe turbulence on its way from London to Singapore. One man (73) died and over 50 people were injured. The 73-year-old apparently suffered a heart attack. There are said to have been 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board. 

Among those injured is a British dancer who suffered a severe spinal cord injury. Her husband reported that his wife was paralyzed from the waist down after the emergency operation.
