With Café Nao, Little Italy has added a restaurant that serves pleasant bistro cuisine to its repertoire. This is the new project of Noée Dion and Alexis Véronneau — formerly owners of the delicatessen Alexis le Gourmand — named in honor of their daughter Naomie.

The business partners have created in this new nest a warm place to come and have a midday meal, an evening meal and, more recently, a weekend brunch.

Under the leadership of chef Maxence Hiltbrand, they offer simple and comforting dishes, including homemade salmon gravlax with beet juice, beef tartare, or, on Saturdays and Sundays, eggs Benedict served on bread from Joe la crust.

Added to this is a list of local and privately imported wines, which come from Vin dans les voiles, Italvine and Balthazard, among others. A friendly haunt for locals — and beyond.
