The Russian Embassy in the United States sent the state Department a note after the publication of material about the alleged involvement of Russia to the attacks of the Taliban* the us military in Afghanistan.

“We not for the first time received threats. But now we have a serious problem. After the press published the aforementioned false accusations, in social networks there are calls to settle scores with the Russians,” said Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov.

He also noted that in connection with threat of safety of diplomats, the Embassy has sent to the state Department a note and demanded an investigation.

Previously, the newspaper The New York Times, citing sources, published the first article which claimed that Russian military intelligence was allegedly offered a reward associated with the Taliban militants for attacks on American soldiers in Afghanistan.

Later, the Russian foreign Ministry called the publication “a simple surge”.

The US President Donald trump, in turn, called the article “paid”.
