A fresh breeze is blowing through the Pulheim rolling mill, where the ZDF flea show “Bares for Rares” (Monday to Friday, 3:05 p.m.) is recorded: On Friday, auctioneer Sarah Schreiber celebrated her debut as a new dealer. The very first sale was a complete success for the managing director of the auction house Schreiber: she bought an old rocking chair for 600 euros. But what moved the 34-year-old to take part in the show?

“I love my job and would like to present it in a fresher and more modern way,” said Schreiber in an interview with the “Wiesbadener Kurier”: “As an outsider, you always have the great auctioneer in your head, who knows everything and can do everything. But those who really make good sales in the background usually go unnoticed.” The Freiburg native would like to change this with the show, among other things.

Women in particular are underrepresented in the industry: “Women in our profession, some of whom have a doctorate in art history and are very familiar with antiques, are so underpaid that they are turning their backs on the profession,” criticizes Schreiber. “We can do much more than we are given credit for. The people behind the big auctioneers research prices, make bids and do the groundwork to get the best possible price for the customer at the auction.”

At the end of last year, Schreiber became self-employed. Before that she had worked for ten years in an auction house in Oberursel. Now she would also like to interest a young audience in the professional field: “We go out on Instagram and want to make our work more transparent.” “Oriental carpets, oriental textiles and maybe good whiskey.”

DFB star Robin Gosens competed against former Iceland international Rúrik Gíslason on Saturday evening in “Schlag den Star”. Gosens won the game, but the 27-year-old didn’t show his best side in every discipline: he almost hit a team member with a hammer throw.

“I bet on you” is all about “bet, that…?” However, the real stars are missing from the RTL copy. Instead, mediocre RTL staff bets with Mario Barth, Motsi Mabuse and Sonja Zietlow. But the bets are good.

Marc Terenzi and girlfriend Jenny Elvers have split up! This was confirmed by the pop singer of “Bild”. “We broke up weeks ago. But I want to support them, so I kept silent. The past few weeks have not been easy.”
