The Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky commented on the “parliamentary newspaper” the introduction of personal sanctions of the USA against the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and members of his family.
Earlier, the state Department accused the Chechen leader of involvement in human rights violations and banned from entering the United States. In addition to the head of the Republic, the limitations apply to his wife Medni Kadyrov, and daughters Aishat, Khadizhat Kadyrov Kadyrov.
Slutsky called this step of the American administration as “unfriendly” and expressed confidence that the grounds for inclusion in the blacklist unfounded.
“the Accusations of involvement in human rights violations are quite serious and need to be confirmed in court. Otherwise, such statements are a libel on one of the most influential heads of Russian regions”, — said the head of the Duma Committee.
“Kadyrov was and remains a patriot of Russia. Obviously, this fact is the real reason for the restrictions”, — said Slutsky.
The MP said that Russia will find a way to respond to the introduction of Kadyrov in the black list. However, he expressed confidence that sanctions will not prevent the head of Chechnya to perform the duties.
