Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) took the highest place among the best universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) rating, Izvestia writes.

During the year, the university rose by 16 positions, to 158 places. In 2021, a record number of universities from Russia (60) were included in the list, 12 of which appeared in it for the first time. The highest figures among the debutants were received by the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and the Don State Technical University. Both institutions are above the 600th place in the overall standings.

The first place in the ranking for the sixth year in a row belongs to the University of Oxford in the UK. All places in the top ten were taken by universities in the United States and Great Britain.

Earlier it became known that nine-year-old Alice Teplyakova received a student ID and began studying at Moscow State University on the Day of Knowledge. The Russian child prodigy also took a photo against the background of the university, which was shared by her father Yevgeny Teplyakov.
