Moscow recalled that the Haftarot are not separatist

Marshal Khalifa Haftar is not a separatist, said the Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“Haftar is not a symbol of separatism, it is recognized by the international community, including the participants of the Berlin conference and the security Council, a party to the conflict”, — said Lavrov, speaking at the Munich security conference on Saturday, February 15. The words of a senior Russian diplomat was quoted by RIA Novosti.

Lavrov said that General Haftar and his Libyan national army is considered a party to the Libyan conflict by the UN Security Council. This authority called the Haftarot, as well as the head of the national consensus government of Libya Fayeza Zarraga to comply with the ceasefire regime, to start a political process to solve the issues of the economic life of the country.

Speaking of the destruction of the state of Libya, the Russian foreign Minister recalled that it was the result of “absolutely illegal action taken by the Alliance in 2011.”

Libya has virtually ceased to function as a unified state after the overthrow and murder of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. Now the country is in a dual power.
