MOE sent to Serbia 3000 sets of equipment to fight COVID

MOSCOW, April 25/ Radio Sputnik. Russian rescuers handed over to the Serbian colleagues three thousand sets of special protective gear to combat coronavirus infections, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of EMERCOM of Russia.

“a few days ago the Russian-Serbian humanitarian centre with the support of EMERCOM of Russia in providing assistance to Serbian firefighters to work safely in the spread of coronavirus infection have relayed 3000 sets of equipment”, – stated in the message.

the Russian-Serbian humanitarian centre in Niš is functioning for 8 years in the framework of bilateral cooperation, EMERCOM of Russia and Ministry of internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. The staff of the centre during this time he participated in humanitarian operations and projects for assistance in liquidation of emergency situations on the territory of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Slovenia and Albania. In early November 2019, Russian specialists provided assistance to the Serbian counterparts in fighting forest fires in remote areas of the mountain system of Stara Planina, where they sent the plane Il-76 EMERCOM of Russia. Also in June 2019, a joint international exercise of rescue services “Serbia-2019” in NIS, which was attended by more than 500 rescue workers, firefighters, and medical workers from almost 10 countries.
